Armored truck crashes injures one in Salem OR privateofficer.com

Salem OR July 27 2017
One person has been hospitalized after a crash that caused an armored vehicle to rollover on Silverton Road and Fisher Road Wednesday morning.
Salem Fire Department received a report of a rollover crash around 11:19 a.m. and found an armored vehicle on its side with at least one person trapped inside, said Salem Fire Battalion Chief Ty Gunesch.
Gunesch said officials used heavy extrication equipment to get the person out. It took crews roughly 18 minutes to get the person out of the vehicle.
The driver of the armored vehicle was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to Lt. Dave Okada of Salem Police Department.
Gunesch said a Nissan Xterra SUV is believed to have struck the rear of the armored vehicle, causing it to lose control and roll over.
Three fire engines, one ladder truck, two medical units and a battalion chief responded to the scene. Crews remained at the scene for roughly an hour. The Marion County Fire District assisted on the scene.
Officials shut down Fisher Road and blocked one lane of Silverton Road while they cleared the scene.

Okada said the crash is still under investigation.
