One person is dead, another critically injured in a shoot-out that now has police putting together a puzzle and asking questions.
What police know at this time is that around 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, two men started firing at each other at 22nd & Toronto in North Philadelphia.
Security officers working nearby heard the gunfire and rushed to the scene. Seeing the men shooting at each other, the security officers opened fire.
One of the shooters, a 22 year-old man, was shot in the head. He was rushed to Temple University Hospital but was pronounced dead just after 3 a.m.
The other shooter, a 23 year-old man, was shot in the leg and transported to the hospital in a private vehicle. He was placed in stable condition.
It is unknown at this time whether the victims were hit by the security officer’s gunfire but police are working on evidence collected to determine that.
Police believe an argument may have sparked the shooting between the victims.
They recovered two weapons at the crime scene.
At this time, were not ready to say if there’ll be any criminal charges, a PPD spokesperson said.
