ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, Va. March 16 2017 A teacher at Spotswood High School has been arrested and charged with taking indecent liberties with a 17-year-old student.
Alisha Renee Largent, a 25-year-old Harrisonburg woman who was listed on the Spotswood website as teaching family and consumer sciences, turned herself in to the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office on Monday.
She's charged with one felony count of "Indecent liberties with a child under the age of 18 while in a supervisory role."
The Sheriff's Office reports that they have been investigating Largent since March 7th, when the school received a complaint alleging that a situation occurred between the teacher and the student.
The victim in the case is only identified as 17-year-old male who attends the school.
Largent was released by the magistrate on her own recognizance.
WHSV has contacted Dr. Carol Fenn, superintendent of Rockingham County Public Schools, for comment from the school system, and is awaiting a response.
