Security Officer Murder Suspects Arrested-Prosecuted

Shoplifter Who Killed Burlington Coat Factory Security Agent Arrested
Prince William County VA March 8 2017 Jamel Carlos Kingsbury, 35, was arrested Tuesday in Washington, D.C., in connection with the weekend stabbing death of a loss prevention officer at Potomac Mills mall.
Kingsbury is charged with murder in the slaying of Larry Donnell Drumgole, 44, of Rappahannock Academy in Caroline County. Drumgole was a loss prevention officer at Burlington Coat Factory in Potomac Mills.
Kingsbury was identified as a suspect following an investigation into an unrelated domestic dispute Saturday morning, said Prince William County police Sgt. Jonathan Perok.
Kingsbury, police say, was spotted shoplifting inside the store around 2:30 p.m. and confronted by two plain-clothes loss prevention employees as he tried to leave. A struggle ensued and one of the agents was stabbed outside the mall, Perok said. The other security officer was not hurt. Drumgole was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Security Officer Murdered After “Contract Hit” Ordered
Jacksonville FL March 5 2017 Police say that a Jacksonville man already behind bars for multiple charges put a hit out for a private security officer who had given information to police.
Quintae Hudson, 26 was indicted Friday on eight separate counts related to an alleged murder he organized from inside the Duval County Jail in 2016, an arrest report says.
According to the indictment, Hudson, reportedly called his associates after fearing he may be convicted for a separate crime and had them kill a security guard who was due to testify against him in court, an arrest warrant says.
Hudson was arrested in 2014 for throwing a concrete stone through a car window with a woman and small child inside, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says. The brick smashed the passenger side window and severely cut the small child's arm.
He was arrested after a security officer spoke to police at the apartment complex in North Riverside where he attacked the woman, an arrest warrant says.
After sitting in jail for a year, Hudson reportedly began to make calls to associates saying 'Security Guard Mike' needed to be 'handled' and 'taken care of.' Michael Wright, the security guard who was due to testify against him in court, was killed the week of March 26, 2016.

NC Man to Spend 41-52 Years in Prison for Security Officer Murder
Havelock NC March 8 2017 A Havelock man will spend 41 to 52 years in prison for the shooting death of a popular bar security ofifcer in Havelock in 2013.
Jonathan Pugh, 21, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder and other charges on Monday in Craven County Superior Court in New Bern. He shot and killed bar security guard Todd Asa North, 39.
Pugh, 21, was 18 on April 14, 2013, when he and others were involved in a fight inside Flyers, a club located off Fontana Boulevard in Havelock. The two groups were escorted out of the club by security, including North, a retired Marine. Pugh left the scene, retrieved a handgun and returned to the bar at about 1 a.m., according to the investigation.
According to witnesses at the scene, North was told about the gun, and then retrieved his own weapon and stood at the entrance of the bar. North blocked the door with his body, attempting to lock it against Pugh when the latter shot him four times with four .40-caliber rounds in the chest and shoulder. Five other bar patrons were also injured by the gunshots.
North was able to fire his own gun, wounding Pugh in the stomach.
Pugh fled the scene, but was tracked down and arrested.
Men Charged in Akron Security Officer Murder
Akron OH March 8 2017 - Two suspects have been charged in the death of a 33-year-old Akron bar security guard.
Thomas I. Dunn III, 19, is charged with murder. Anthony M. Cox, 21, is charged with complicity to commit murder. The pair was originally charged with obstructing official business.
Dunn and Cox are accused of shooting and killing Daniel Turner, a security guard at Game 7 Bar and Grille on Saturday night.
Turner was reportedly standing near the front door on the building's west side when a shot was fired from the southwest corner of the bar, striking him in the hip. He later died at Akron City Hospital.
San Jose Police Charge 5 With Murder of Club Security Manager
San Jose CA March 8 2017 Police have arrested three additional suspects in connection with the fatal stabbing last month of a security guard outside downtown San Jose nightclub Tres Gringos Cabo Cantina.
Investigators said Francisco Navarro, 35, of San Jose, was working at the club as the security manager before being rushed to a local hospital for treatment of a stab wound on Feb. 26, 2017 shortly after midnight. Navarro and a co-worker were involved in a fight at the club with several suspects, who fled from the scene after the stabbing, police said.
Police identified the three new suspects arrested in the case as: Santos Trevino, 21, of San Jose. He was arrested in Rocklin, Calif., and has been charged with murder, police said; Joseph Esquievel, 27, of San Jose; and Percella Esquivel, 25, of San Jose. The two have also been charged with murder, police said. The relationship between the Esquievel was not immediately clear.
Police had previously arrested Robert Ruiz, 32, of San Jose, and Aaron Vallejo, 24, for their involvement in the case.
The suspects were being held at the Santa Clara County Jail. It was not immediately clear if bail has been set for the suspects.

Convicted Felon Charged With Las Vegas Security Officer Murder
Las Vegas NV March 2 2017 A suspect has been arrested in the April 2016 shooting death of a security guard at a southwest Las Vegas valley construction site.
Raymond Padilla, 43, is facing six felony counts, including murder with use of a deadly weapon, in the death of Mark Santee, 48, who was working as a security officer at Safeguard Security at a construction site in the 5100 block of South Jerry Tarkanian Way, near Tropicana and Fort Apache, when he was found shot to death.
Investigators said at the time that they believed several robbers may have been scouring the site when Santee attempted to stop them. His family friends tell News 3 he was shot four times and severely beaten.
Padilla had been arrested in September on charges unrelated to this investigation.
LVMPD Homicide detectives re-booked him Monday on the following charges related to this case: murder with use of a deadly weapon; robbery with use of a deadly weapon; burglary; conspiracy to commit murder; conspiracy to commit robbery; and conspiracy to commit burglary.
Police are still investigating and could make additional arrests.
New Orleans Man charged With Attempted Murder of Security Officer
New Orleans LA Feb 28 20017
– Police have arrested the man who shot a security guard while trying to rob him at a West Bank daquiri shop.
According to NOPD, 30-year-old Marcell Dwayne Ledet tried to rob the security guard working at Daiquiri Place in the 3700 block of Gen. DeGaulle Drive just after 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 11.
The victim told police he was doing a private security detail when Ledet walked up to him at his post and demanded money. When the security guard refused, both men opened fire on each other and the victim was shot in the face and hand.
Police arrested Ledet at an apartment complex Friday in the 3300 block of Garden Oaks Drive. Officials said he tried to run out of the apartment’s back window, but officers were able to arrest him.
Texas Security Officer Shot to Death During Subway Robbery

Police are searching for a black male who entered into a Subway restaurant and attempted to rob it and shot and killed a security officer in the process.
Police are reporting that at around 3:40am Sunday officers responded to a robbery at a Subway restaurant at 1100 Old FM 440.
When officers arrived on scene they found a security officer inside the restaurant deceased on the floor.
According to the Killeen police department, the robbery suspect exchanged words with the security officer before he fatally shot him.
The suspect is a black male about 5'6 of stocky build. He was wearing a grey sweatshirt and black shorts with red and white trim.
Police say that no one else was injured and did not disclose the amount of money stolen.

NJ Man Charged With Trying to Kill Security Officers

-- A Trenton man has been arrested on charges he shot two security guards at a VFW in Willingboro last week, police said.
Brandon Washington, 31, of Trenton, was arrested at a home on Pageant Lane in Willingboro on Monday and charged with two counts of attempted murder, according to authorities.
William Matthews Jr., 56, and Edgar Mark Peterson, 67, were working as security guards Thursday during a private event when shots rang out along Creekview Road.
Matthews suffered a gunshot wound to the temple. His girlfriend told that her boyfriend was shot after removing Washington following a disturbance.
Peterson suffered a gunshot wound to the arm.
Tulsa Police Capture Man Wanted in Murder of Security Officer

A man accused of shooting a security officer to death after a fight at the Route 66 Event Center in October has been arrested in Tulsa.
Agents from the U.S. Marshal Service, Northern Oklahoma Violent Crimes Task Force and Tulsa Police arrested Byron Terrail Penn, 31, after a traffic stop Thursday afternoon, according to a news release from Tulsa Homicide Sgt. Dave Walker.
Penn is facing a first-degree murder charge in connection with the shooting death of 42-year-old Norman Huntley.
Investigators believe Penn shot Huntley, who worked security at the Route 66 Event Center, outside a car wash at 5941 E. 11th St. during a fight Oct. 2.
The chain of events began when a group of people reportedly stole a backpack from inside the event center and took it in a vehicle to the nearby car wash. Police say club patrons and security surrounded the suspects' car and fought with the driver, recovering the stolen backpack in the process.
During the fight, Penn allegedly fired several shots at Huntley before fleeing across the street to a waiting car, police said. Huntley was taken to St. John Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries.
Two Found Guilty in Murder of Lebanon Pa. Nightclub Security Officer
Lebanon, Pa. Feb 15 2017 Two York men have been convicted in a Lebanon bar shooting that killed a security guard and injured a customer.
Richard Kinnard II and Jared Jones were found guilty Tuesday of first-degree murder and related counts following a trial in Lebanon County Court.
Authorities said Kinnard fired into Vinny’s Good Times bar, in the 700 block of Reinoehl Street, through an exit door after he was thrown out by security in September 2015. They said Jones drove Kinnard from the bar after the shooting.
Security guard 31-year-old Corey Bryan, was struck in the abdomen and died at a hospital. A 37-year-old woman was wounded by a bullet that struck her hip.
The 26-year-olds face life terms at sentencing, scheduled for March 22.
Washington Man Guilt in Murder of Armored Car Security Officer
Lakewood WA Feb 15 2017 A man who organized the fatal robbery of an armored-car guard at the Lakewood Walmart was convicted Monday for the second time.
Jurors found Odies Walker, 49, guilty of aggravated first-degree murder and other crimes in connection with the 2009 shooting of 38-year-old Kurt Husted. Sentencing is scheduled for March 2.
After his first trial in 2011, Walker was sentenced to life without parole. The Washington State Supreme Court overturned the conviction, citing prosecutorial misconduct.

Suspect Arrested in Houston Security Officer Murder
Harris County TX Feb 4 2017 Deputies have arrested one of three suspects in the shooting death of a security guard late last year in north Harris County.
Clint Walker, 23, is charged with capital murder in the slaying of 59-year-old Enrique Garcia about 8:30 p.m. Nov. 6 at 538 Dale St., according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
Walker was arrested without incident Tuesday. Two other suspects remain on the run.
Deputies said a surveillance camera recorded the men's images as they drove into the parking lot in a white minivan, jumped out of the van and dashed to the game room. They were armed with guns and tried to get inside the business.
The suspects left empty-handed after the gunfire, speeding away in the minivan. The driver crashed into a pole as they left, ripping the side door off the van.
Investigators later determined Walker was a suspect in the case. No information was released about what led investigators to Walker.
Denver Transit Security Officer Shot to Death

A contract armed security officer on duty for the Denver Regional Transit system was ambushed and shot to death late last night.
The RTD transit security officer was on patrol near Union Station and giving several woman directions when a man, completely unprovoked, walked up to the officer and shot him point blank in the head and neck.
Police say that he was employed by Allied Universal. Denver Police have identified him as Scott Van Laken 56 years old, and had a family.
A short time later, police were able to find the suspect near 15th and Wynkoop streets. He was hiding on a patio near 14th and Wazee streets and had a handgun, according to Denver Police.
The suspect has been identified as 36-year-old Joshua Cummings.
Denver Police Chief Robert later stated that the suspect confessed to shooting the man because he was in uniform.

There have been 21 confirmed security officer deaths and 2 confirmed suicides during 2017.
