WHEELING WV March 31 2017 — A former employee has filed a class-action lawsuit against Security America Inc., which provides security guard services, citing alleged violation of workers compensation acts.
Patsy Rose, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint in Ohio Circuit Court against Security America Inc., alleging that the corporation violated the West Virginia Wage Payment and Collection Act (WPCA).
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that,she was discharged from her employment on Jan. 11, 2016, but she did not receive her final wages within the period required by law. The plaintiff holds Security America responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay discharged employees all wages due within the time period mandated by WPCA.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an award for damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney fees and costs and all other remedies afforded under the WPCA.
