Norwalk man threatens to kill police at hospital

NORWALK CT March 12 2017— A Norwalk man who was being guarded by police at Norwalk Hospital after a Wednesday arrest for assault on a peace officer picked up more charges after threatening to kill cops.
Harlie Thompson, 22, of Lawrence Street, was charged on Tuesday with assault on a peace officer, breach of peace, and interfering with an officer. His bond was set at $2,500.
Following that arrest, Thompson was admitted as a patient to Norwalk Hospital, and was placed under police guard in his hospital room.
On Wednesday at around 11:30 a.m. police say that Thompson woke up and began yelling obscenities and threatened to kill the officer who was guarding him.
He was charged with disorderly conduct and second-degree threatening. His bond on those charges was set at $5,000.
Thompson was given a court date of March 20.
