Search-investigation continues for missing Santee Cooper security officer

Berkeley County SC Feb 22 2017
Searchers including divers continue to comb the property and search the water that surrounds the Santee Cooper facility in South Carolina searching for a missing security officer.
Divers with the Berkeley County Rescue Squad and the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office have searched the lake several times looking for Santee Cooper security officer Michael Curry but to no avail.
Curry disappeared on Wednesday February 1. The 55-year-old worked as a contract security guard at the Santee Cooper facility. Officials have said more than once they believe the worker may have fallen into the lake.
Video shows Curry was last seen around the Jefferies Hydroelectric Station. He spoke to a family member on the phone but then missed a 6:45 p.m. radio check.
Officials say it's out of his character to miss a radio check, as he has been working security at Santee Cooper for more than 15 years.
To date, more than 80 acres of Santee Cooper property have been searched. After Curry first went missing, divers focused much of their efforts near the locks and dam. Sonar was used to penetrate the dark, 15-foot deep channel.

At this time, there has been no sign of the missing security officer and the search has been scaled back but authorities are still investigating.
