Police charge man in shooting of New Orleans security officer privateofficer.com

NEW ORLEANS LA Feb 28 20017 – Police have arrested the man who shot a security guard while trying to rob him at a West Bank daquiri shop.
According to NOPD, 30-year-old Marcell Dwayne Ledet tried to rob the security guard working at Daiquiri Place in the 3700 block of Gen. DeGaulle Drive just after 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 11.
The victim told police he was doing a private security detail when Ledet walked up to him at his post and demanded money. When the guard refused, both men opened fire on each other and the victim was shot in the face and hand.
Police arrested Ledet at an apartment complex Friday in the 3300 block of Garden Oaks Drive. Officials said he tried to run out of the apartment’s back window, but officers were able to arrest him.

Ledet was booked with attempted armed robbery, use of a firearm and second-degree battery.
