D.C. police are looking for four men who authorities said created a disturbance and robbed a private security officer of his wallet and beat him last week in a store in Southwest Washington.
The incident occurred about 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of Fourth Street SW, near the Waterfront Metro station. A surveillance video captured part of the assault.
The video begins with a group of men entering the store. There is a commotion that is not shown in the video police provided. One of the men rushes out the front door holding his right eye. He turns at the entrance and runs back inside. It’s unknown what happened at that point.
The video angle then shifts to a self-checkout area and shows several men rushing the security guard, who backs into a partition while fighting off one of the men swinging a baseball bat at him.
The security officer falls to the floor and is struck by up to four men who then flee.

The security officer was injured but it is not known to what extent.
