A woman, who stopped and chewed out security for making her feel like a thief just before running out of the Walmart on Monday, is facing multiple felony drug charges.
Jessica Elaine Muench, 35, was arrested on Monday with three other people during a traffic stop at Highway 395 near Mission Street.
Muench appeared in East Fork Justice Court on Wednesday facing a charge of trafficking in methamphetamine, three counts of possession of a controlled substance and possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription.
Attorney Kristine Brown was appointed to represent her.
According to court documents, prosecutors said Muench has two prior felonies and was on bail in Washoe County for grand larceny.
The three other people arrested in a Chevrolet Tahoe as a result of the raid on Walmart have been released on their own recognizance.
One, who resisted arrest, is facing misdemeanor charges, while charges are pending against the other two.
According to Walmart security, the group entered the store at about 1:30 a.m. Monday and went from place to place putting items into plastic tubs. At around 6:42 a.m., Muench reportedly abandoned a cart containing $900 worth of goods after being headed off by the security officer. While she was telling the officer how unhappy they were at being followed around the store, a man ran out with another cart.
Security followed and most of the loot was left in the parking lot.
Deputies stopped a vehicle matching the description of the Tahoe, where the driver fought with them during his arrest.
Besides the drugs there were several stolen items in the vehicle.
