Kansas woman arrested after bank robbery stand-off

WICHITA, Kan. Dec 19 2016
Sedgwick County authorities say one person has been taken into custody safely ending an hours-long standoff tonight in east Wichita.
The saga began when police were called around 3:20 p.m. to the scene of a robbery at the Intrust Bank at Harry and Webb.
At around 5:30 p.m. several units were dispatched to the Buttonwood apartments adjacent to the bank to the southwest. Police were able to apprehend 35-year-old Christina Messerschmidt safely at the apartment complex just before 9 p.m. She'd been holed up in the unit for several hours.
Some residents at the apartment complex told KAKE News officers had told them to evacuate their apartments while the incident remained ongoing.
No injuries have been reported.
