Armored truck officer shoots-kills robbery suspect

HOMESTEAD, FLA. Dec 21 2016   Police officials have confirmed that an armed robbery suspect has been shot and killed by an armored truck security officer during an armed robbery attempt.
The fatal shooting near a TD Bank in Homestead also injured two other people including a security office.
Those who work in the area said things were very chaotic after they heard several gunshots. Witnesses said they heard five or six gunshots outside the TD Bank near an armored truck, Tuesday afternoon.
Homestead and Miami-Dade Police and the FBI are on the scene near a TD Bank, located near Southwest 152nd Avenue and 312th Street.
Police report multiple armed men attempted to rob the armored truck but security fought back firing numerous rounds and killed one of the robbers.
A body underneath a tarp could be seen in the area with a shotgun next to it.
Witnesses also said that one of the workers associated with the armored truck was shot in the hip area and was airlifted to Jackson South Community Hospital. His condition is unknown, as of 6:30 p.m.
Miami-Dade Police said a total of three people were shot in this case.
Police said they caught another suspect who fled the scene at the bank. He reportedly had a gunshot wound to his leg and was taken to Jackson South, as well. He was likely shot during the chaos at the bank.
The FBI kept witnesses who were in the bank inside to interview them. They were released just after 6 p.m.

The FBI is leading the investigation.
