MANATEE CO., Fla. Nov 20 2016– Deputies say a man pretending to be a bail bondsman took $3,250 from a woman, claiming he would use the money to bail out her son.
According to the sheriff’s report, 46-year-old Jefferson Juerakhan was not appointed by any agency at the time he represented himself as a bondsman to the 52-year-old woman.
Unknowingly, the woman gave Juerakhan the money.
Deputies say Juerakhan was located at his residence Thursday and has since been arrested for grand theft and impersonation of a bail bond agent. He is currently being held in the Manatee County Jail on a $3,000 bond.
Juerakhan had previously been arrested on Nov. 6 for a similar incident where he posed as a bail bondsman.
Deputies ask anyone with additional information or concerns about the suspected scams to call the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office at 941-747-3011, ext. 2531.
