Police say a man who posed as a University of Southern California security guard has been arrested after assaulting a female student.
Los Angeles Times reports the suspect was taken into custody Saturday evening after prompting the evacuation of USC's Doheny Library and a large police response.
Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Felipe Pardo says the suspect lured a female student into the basement of the library and held her against her will.
The woman screamed and campus police were called to the scene. When officers tried to arrest the man, he escaped to another part of the library, prompting the evacuation of the building.
Pardo says the suspect, who was only identified as being in his 30s, was taken into custody about 5:30 p.m., and hour and a half after the incident started.
He says the man was not armed and the victim was not physically harmed.
