Birmingham AL Nov 10 2016 A Birmingham man is being held on nearly $1 million bond after police arrested him on drug charges at the Renaissance Birmingham Ross Bridge Golf Resort & Spa.
The Vestavia Hills Police Department's Special Investigations Unit took Taylor Alan Panneton into custody on Tuesday, officials said today. The 31-year-old man was staying at the hotel, and was found in possession of methamphetamine and other controlled substances, said Capt. Kevin York.
He is charged with possession of methamphetamine and methamphetamine trafficking. His bond is set at $920,000 and he remains in the Jefferson County Jail.
Police didn't release any additional information about what launched the investigation or led to the arrest.

Court records show Panneton was arrested on felony drug charges in 2007 but was given the opportunity to take part in a pretrial drug diversion program. He was arrested again in 2012 on drug charges, but those charges were dismissed.
