Nevada woman charged with Loomis embezzlement privateofficer.com

Laurie Sayre, 54, of Sparks, Nev., worked as an independent contract bookkeeper for several businesses in Loomis and the greater Placer County area, sheriff’s officials say. Detectives discovered Sayre had stolen more than $65,000 from a Loomis business since Oct. 2015, the department reported.

Laurie Sayre, 54, of Sparks, Nev., was arrested on Thursday, sheriff’s officials said.
The department reported that its investigation showed Sayre stole more than $65,000 from an unidentified Loomis business while working as a contract bookkeeper there since October of 2015.
The department also said Sayre may have been attempting to steal an additional $3,000 from the same business when she was arrested.
She also worked as a contract employee for other companies in Placer County but has not been charged with any illegal activities involving those firms, the department said.
Sayre is currently being held in the Placer County Jail with bail set at $60,000. Detectives are following up with businesses to determine any other possible victims.
