Morva was not monitored while in the bathroom and removed a toilet paper holder from the wall and struck the deputy with it as he exited. He was then able to take the Deputy's weapon and subsequently shot McFarland to complete his escape. <br />The lesson here is to keep the restraints on and monitor prisoners AT ALL TIMES, but especially in the bathroom.
