Harrisburg PA July 23 2017 A Harrisburg Macy's loss prevention officer was arrested Tuesday after police say he took a handgun from a juvenile he had stopped in the store.
According to the Swatara Township Police Department, Brandon Jovon Osswald stopped two juveniles in the store and requested Harrisburg Mall Security's assistance. Police said Osswald removed a handgun from one of the juveniles during the stop, but did not disclose that he had removed the firearm.
Swatara Township police said Harrisburg Mall Security told management about the firearm, after which they were contacted. According to police, the firearm was previously stolen from a neighboring jurisdiction.
Osswald, who was arraigned on Wednesday, was charged with receiving stolen property, obstruction of justice, tampering with physical evidence and obstructing administration of law or governmental function.
