Gatineau Canada July 30 2017 Gatineau police are searching for a suspect after a security guard was assaulted and a passing motorist was threatened with what appeared to be a firearm Saturday morning.
The incidents occurred at about 1 a.m. on Hanson Street, near the Agwàta water show site.
A security guard on patrol spotted a suspect wandering around the bleachers and told him the site was closed.
The guard was attacked and, in the scuffle, the suspect grabbed the guard's reinforced flashlight and struck the guard several times. He was not seriously hurt.
On his way out, the suspect pulled what appeared to be a gun on a passing motorist, demanding he get out of his car.
The motorist took off, and the suspect fled east on Hanson Street.

Extra officers and the canine squad were dispatched, without success.
