2 off-duty Harris County deputies working private security fatally shoot man

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas May 12 2017 – Two off-duty sheriff’s deputies were involved in a fatal shooting outside a bar in northeast Harris County early Friday when they thought that they had come under fire by a man in the parking lot.
The Harris County Sheriff's Deputy Sergeants were working a security job outside Johnny B’s Outlaw Saloon when they believed they were under fire, so they pulled out their weapons and started shooting at around 2 a.m.
The area off Woodforest east of Normandy soon was swarmed by law enforcement and flashing blue lights.
Authorities say that one person was shot and killed in the parking lot, in or near a black Cadillac sedan.
Multiple witnesses said they saw and heard what happened.
“We just heard shots, we were here with some friends,” said Ralph Banda. “We hid by the brick wall, and we heard the return fire.”
The investigation was still underway as of 4:45 a.m. with the Cadillac taped off in the parking lot.

At this time, authorities are not saying if the man was armed or why he would have been shooting at the deputies.
