Man charged with theft-drugs at Rome NY J C Penney store privateofficer.com




Rome NY April 8 2017 A 24-year-old man accused of shoplifting from JCPenney was taken into custody Friday night after a brief foot pursuit.
Police said Taylor E. White, of North Levitt Street, stole several items of clothing from the JC Penney in Freedom Plaza at about 9 p.m. Store personnel notified the police, and Officer Brian Stevens spotted White running through the parking lot. Police said Stevens pursued, catching White and taking him into custody in the 100 block of West Dominick Street. Police said White was also found with a quantity of drugs.

White is charged with one count each of petty larceny, seventh-degree possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance outside of its original container, authorities stated. He is scheduled to appear in City Court.
