VICTORVILLE CA April 19 2017 — Authorities arrested two Victorville residents who allegedly assaulted a motel security guard and housekeeper on Friday afternoon.
Keisha Marie Liendo, 21, and Joseph Lamont Smith, 31, were arrested following the incident, which occurred at the Green Tree Inn in the 14100 block of Green Tree Boulevard. Authorities said Liendo bit a housekeeper while Smith punched a security guard during an altercation on Friday afternoon.
Victorville Sheriff’s Station spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez said Liendo and Smith were staying at the motel on Friday afternoon when a security guard was requested to help calm down Liendo, who was reportedly “being loud.”
The incident began to escalate when Smith, after seeing the interaction between Liendo and the security guard, came out of the motel room and involved himself in the incident.
“(Smith) punched the security guard several times,” Rodriguez said. “At some point, a housekeeper became involved and was bit by (Liendo).”
The housekeeper was treated by medical personnel at the scene, Rodriguez said, but no further details were available on the security guard’s condition on Monday.
Liendo and Smith were both arrested on suspicion of battery causing serious bodily injury. Booking records show Smith posted $100,000 bail and was released from custody late Friday night.
Liendo remains in custody at West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga in lieu of $100,000 bail, and is expected to be arraigned in a Victorville courtroom Tuesday afternoon if criminally charged by prosecutors, booking records show.
Smith did not have a scheduled court appearance related to his arrest.
