Natick MA March 2 2017 Three Boston-area women sprinted across Rte. 9 Monday as they were chased by Natick Mall employees after police said the trio shoplifted at two stores.
Police found the three women – Crystal Monae Jackson, 18, and Nataysia Armani Payne-Walker, 18, both of Boston, and Malia Watson, 18, of Dorchester, hiding in their car near Dick's Sporting Goods in Sherwood Plaza across the street, according to a police report filed in Natick District Court on Tuesday.
An employee of Champs in the Natick Mall saw the three women take clothing off the racks and put it in handbags, police wrote in the report.
The store employee told mall security about the theft. When the three women saw they were being followed they ran. They left the mall, crossed both lanes of Rte. 9 and got into a car at Sherwood Plaza. The Champs employee had followed them and pointed out the car to officers.
Officers found the three women fully reclined, trying to hide, according to the report.
"Inside the vehicle was a plethora of clothing from Victoria's Secret and Champs," police wrote in the report.
Among the clothing were numerous "Pink" brand items, including shirts, pants and underwear. Victoria Secret's employees reviewed security video and saw the three women taking the items off the racks and putting them in their purses, police wrote.
Champs employees said the women stole shirts, sandals and a baby clothing set.
Thel value of the items stolen was more than $600.
Police charged Jackson, of 43 Norwell St., Payne-Walker, of 490 Blue Hill Ave., and Watson of 45 Carruth St., with two counts each of larceny of more than $250 and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Jackson also had an unspecified Boston District Court warrant for her arrest.
At their Natick District Court arraignments on Tuesday, Judge Lynn Coffin Brendemuehl released all of them on $250 each. They are all due back in court on April 27 for a pretrial conference.
