Shots fired as man barricades himself at Midland Mall

COLUMBIA, SC March 27 2017
The Richland County Sheriff's Department is investigating a shots fired call at a Midlands mall.
According to the sheriff's department, a man opened fire and struck a glass at the Columbia Mall on Two Notch Road late Sunday night.
Deputies say a man identified as 36-year-old James Parrish, barricaded himself inside a store in the mall. Ultimately no one was shot, but the alarm was triggered by broken glass.
Parrish was taken to Palmetto Health Richland with minor cuts.
He is charged with six counts of pointing and presenting a firearm, burglary, malicious injury to property, felon in possession of a firearm and altered serial number to firearm.
