Bethlehem PA March 14 2017 A drunken Lehigh County man is accused of punching a Sands Casino Resort Bethlehem security manager and resisting arrest.
Charged is William Philip Forte, 41, of Schnecksville.
The security manager at 1:07 a.m. Feb. 25 was called to the gaming floor for a reported intoxicated patron who was causing a disturbance. The manager reported Forte was staggering, incoherent and had slurred speech.
Forte then allegedly got up from a chair and punched the manager.
Pennsylvania State Police in Bethlehem responded to the casino and tried to arrest Forte, but he resisted being placed into handcuffs, police said. He eventually was taken into custody and transported to an area hospital.
Forte is charged with simple assault. An arraignment and preliminary hearing is scheduled before District Judge Joseph Barner.
