Police charge man in shooting of two security officers privateofficer.com


WILLINGBORO NJ Feb 23 2017 -- A Trenton man has been arrested on charges he shot two security guards at a VFW in Willingboro last week, police said.
Brandon Washington, 31, of Trenton, was arrested at a home on Pageant Lane in Willingboro on Monday and charged with two counts of attempted murder, according to authorities.
William Matthews Jr., 56, and Edgar Mark Peterson, 67, were working as security guards Thursday during a private event when shots rang out along Creekview Road.
Matthews suffered a gunshot wound to the temple. His girlfriend told 6abc.com that her boyfriend was shot after removing Washington following a disturbance.
Peterson suffered a gunshot wound to the arm.
Both have since been released from the hospital, 6abc.com said.

Additional charges against Washington are pending.
