Hamilton NZ Feb 27 2017 Forty two people were arrested early yesterday morning after an all-in brawl, involving patrons, security and police outside several Hamilton nightclubs.
Police have confirmed a gang member was trespassed from a Hamilton city bar by the manager, and a group of gang associates arrived after this, on early Sunday morning.
Pockets of disorder have then broken out on what was a busy night in the entertainment precinct, police say.
There were no serious injuries.
Dramatic footage of the brawl emerged early yesterday morning.
The footage shows what looked to be dozens of patrons milling on a street in Hamilton.
Several were punching other patrons and security staff.
The Lawreson Group CEO, John Lawrenson, said the fight was gang-related and started after two gang associates were kicked out of The Hood Bar because they were causing problems.
The street was cleared by 3.30am and a number of arrests were made.
