Bouncer, club manager plead not guilty in fatal beating of Daisy Mountain firefighter privateofficer.com

Centerfolds Cabaret murder suspects
Maricopa County AZ Feb 8 2017 Brandon Draper, 26, and Timothy Piegari, 42, both pleaded not guilty to their respective charges Tuesday for their involvement of the death of Daisy Mountain firefighter Luke Jones.
Jones was assaulted while off-duty at a nightclub in January and died at a hospital.
Police said Draper, a bouncer at Centerfolds Cabaret, assaulted Jones so severely that it led to his death.
Piegari, the club manager, is accused of hiding surveillance video of the beating.
Draper is charged with second-degree murder, and Piegari is accused of hindering prosecution and tampering with physical evidence. Draper has been in jail since his initial arrest and is being held on a $250,000 bond.
There was some confusion during Draper's appearance in Maricopa County Superior Court and argument over whether Draper could afford a private attorney.
The state prosecutor addressed Judge Julie Mata and said, "When Mr. Draper first appeared before the courts, he stated that he was not indigent and could afford private counsel, but now he is saying he is indigent."
When asked, Draper confirmed that he no longer could afford one. Mata ruled that he be assigned a public defender.
Draper was also told that if he was able to post bond that he would need to report to Phoenix Police Department and submit a DNA sample within five days. If he failed to do so, a warrant would be issued for his arrest.

Piegari and his lawyer also declined comment after their morning appearance.
Both Piegari and Draper's next court appearances are scheduled for March 21, 2017, for an initial pretrial conference in front of Judge James Rummage, and then a status conference on April 19, 2017.
