TOWN OF ULSTER, N.Y. Jan 30 2017 Three Capital Region men were jailed on several misdemeanor charges Friday after a shoplifting incident at the Walmart Supercenter left a security guard slightly injured, according to Ulster Town Police. Police said Gary E. Brazzell, 37, of Cohoes, Michael F. Chrysler, 39, of Schenectady, and Frank A. Chrysler, 51, of Watervliet, entered the Walmart store at 601 Frank Sottile Blvd. twice on Friday and removed $1,203.92 worth of merchandise from the store without paying for it.
As Brazzell attempted to leave the store, he injured a store security guard, authorities said. The guard suffered an abrasion and declined further medical examination.
As authorities took Brazzell into custody without further incident, Frank and Michael Chrysler left the store, got in a car and left the scene, police said.
Authorities said they radioed a description of the suspects’ car and that state police caught up to the vehicle at the entrance to the New York state Thruway and stopped it without incident.
Brazzell was taken to police headquarters, where authorities said he was found to be possession of heroin. He was charged with two misdemeanor counts of petit larceny, along with one misdemeanor count each of criminal possession of a controlled substance, assault and conspiracy.
Frank Chrysler was charged with two counts of petit larceny and one count of conspiracy, all misdemeanors, and Michael Chrysler was also charged with misdemeanor counts of petit larceny and conspiracy.
