Philadelphia PA Jan 15 2017
Three people were shot and wounded following an argument between two large groups outside a North Philadelphia bar early Saturday, police said.
The shooting happened at about 2:30 a.m. outside the Ridge Capitol Bar on the 2800 block of Ridge Avenue.
Police said that during the argument, a 26-year-old woman was shot in the back as she was running down Ridge Avenue.
As private security guards were rendering aid to the woman, police said, the alleged shooter or shooters were reportedly seen entering a dark-colored vehicle, possibly a BMW, making a U-turn, then driving by the bar's private security guards and rolling down their windows.
At that time, police said the armed security guards fired at the vehicle, which was last seen heading north on Sedgley Avenue.
Police Capt. Mark Overwise told reporters that the security guards "saw a person firing and they returned fire. Three security guards in all returned fire. There were a total of 19 shots fired by security guards."
The woman who was shot was taken by private vehicle to Temple University Hospital, where she was in critical condition.
Meanwhile, police said, a 24-year-old man who was shot several times was taken by medics to Temple, where he was in critical condition. This man had been observed throwing a gun on the ground near a parked vehicle outside the bar; officers later found a gun in that location, police said.
A 32-year-old man who was also shot was taken by private vehicle and later located at Temple. He told officers he suffered a graze wound to his head while on the 2800 block of Ridge Avenue, police said.
It was not immediately clear if any of the three people wounded were shot by bullets fired by the security guards.

No arrests have been made in the case. Police said the Central Detective Division is actively investigating the shooting.
