Meijer employee jailed for theft, gun charges privateofficer.com

Commerce Township MI Jan 31 2017 A 20-year-old Meijer employee is jailed after, investigators say, he stole lottery tickets and cigarettes from the grocer’s Commerce Township gas station and a pistol from a Clawson gun owner.
Officers at noon on Friday, Jan. 20, were called to the Meijer store at 1703 Haggerty Road for an embezzlement complaint at the Meijer gas station.
A loss prevention employee who works at the gas station said an employee was caught on video taking lottery tickets and cigarettes from the store.
After searching the suspect’s backpack, the loss prevention officer found a 0.40 caliber Glock handgun.
Deputies later learned that the 20-year-old is not a concealed pistol license holder. They also found that the gun was previously reported stolen from Clawson.

The suspect was taken to the Oakland County Jail to await potential criminal charges. The incident is still under investigation, according to authorities.
