PASADENA CA Jan 18 2017 A security guard had his cell phone stolen by a man who was leaving a sandwich shop Tuesday, authorities said.
Pasadena Police responded to a call at 7:28 p.m. on the 600 block of N. Fair Oaks Avenue, about the incident, Lt. John Luna said.
The 75-year-old security guard saw a man inside the business, he described as looking suspicious, Luna explained.
The victim, with his back to the door of the shop, called the police, and did not see the suspect exit the building, Luna said.
The suspect, described as being 5 foot 6 or 7 inches tall, weighing between 150 to 173 pounds wearing dark clothing, struck the security guard in the back of the head, Luna said.
The suspect took the cell phone and fled westbound on Peoria Street.
The victim was not injured, Luna said.
