Lynchburg Va. police officer charged with shoplifting privateofficer.com

Lynchburg VA Jan 3 2017 A Lynchburg Police Department officer has been charged with petit larceny following a shoplifting incident Dec. 19 at the Kroger in Forest off Forest Road, according to an LPD news release.
Travis L. Dooley, senior officer and a seven-year member of LPD, was served a misdemeanor warrant by the Bedford County Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 22. The warrant was connected to an alleged shoplifting incident at Kroger involving Dooley, who was off duty at the time, according to the release.
Dooley is a patrol officer and has been placed on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of a criminal and internal investigation.

LPD will conduct the internal investigation while Bedford County will handle the criminal investigation, according to the release.
