Lewis County WA. Dec 24 2016 A man accused of punching a security guard while attempting to shoplift items made his first appearance Wednesday in Lewis County Superior Court.
Joshua A. P. LeBlanc, 33, of Centralia, was charged with second-degree robbery and granted $10,000 bail.
Police responded at 9:18 p.m. Tuesday to the 1200 block of Harrison Avenue, Centralia’s Rite-Aid Pharmacy, to a report of a theft.
A store manager reported that LeBlanc attempted to take a shopping basket full of items out of the store without paying for it.
A store security officer attempted to grab the basket and take it from LeBlanc. LeBlanc allegedly hit the man before the two engaged in a tug-of-war over the basket.
LeBlanc let go and left the store, according to court documents.
