Mass. man charged with shoplifting electronics from Manchester Walmart

MANCHESTER NH Dec 31 2016- Police used surveillance video to track a Massachusetts man accused of stealing several electronic devices from a Walmart.
Joseph Hart, 35, of Westboro, Mass., was arrested Wednesday after initially eluding store security and police by running in to a grocery store across the street, police said in a release Thursday.
Security at the new Walmart on Gold Street observed a man taking several electronic devices and placing them in a backpack, police said. The man fled on foot toward Hannaford, where a police officer responding to the call saw him leaving through an emergency exit, then run back in the grocery store when he saw the officer, police said.
Officers went back to Walmart and reviewed the security footage, which showed the suspect leaving the store in a vehicle, police said. Police relayed information about the vehicle and another officer spotted it on South Willow Street and pulled it over, according to the release.
Police identified Hart and arrested him on charges of shoplifting, resisting arrest and falsifying physical evidence.
