Blount County TN man dies in confrontation with nightclub security privateofficer.com

Maryville TN Dec 1 2016 A Blount County man is dead following a fight with a bouncer outside a Maryville bar, authorities said.
Autopsy results are pending for Shane Tipton, 40, of Walland, who was pronounced dead at Blount Memorial Hospital following the confrontation early Sunday at Two Doors Down, 118 E. Broadway Ave., according to Maryville Police Chief Tony Crisp.
Officers initially responded to a report of an unconscious man on the sidewalk outside the nightspot shortly after 1 a.m.
Tipton - whose birthday was Sunday - had been cut off by bartenders and escorted out of the business, then returned and had to be escorted out a second time, Crisp said.
Outside again, an altercation began between Tipton and a woman later identified as his wife.
A bouncer with the club, who Crisp did not identify, attempted to intervene. Tipton came at the man, who punched Tipton once. Tipton struck his head on the sidewalk when he fell, Crisp said.
Emergency responders performed CPR before Tipton was transported to the hospital.
One the investigation is complete, Crisp said he expects to forward the findings to the Blount County District Attorney General's office for a decision on whether to pursue criminal charges.
