A 45-year-old Winfield woman was arrested Sunday, accused of shoplifting more than $2,500 worth of merchandise from Belk at Riverchase Galleria.
Belk employees said they saw a woman select numerous clothing and accessory items and conceal them in a cloth shopping bag, authorities said.
Employees told authorities that they saw the woman take additional clothing items into a fitting room and come out with nothing in her hands.
The woman tried to leave the store, but was stopped by loss prevention employees.
Authorities said they recovered 29 clothing items worth $2,560 from the woman.
Hoover police arrested Kathy Anette Roberts Green, 45, of Winfield. She is charged with first-degree theft of property.
Green was taken to the Jefferson County Jail with a bond of $5,000.
