Canton GA Nov 12 2016 Quick action by local police had two suspects in custody Friday only minutes after a robbery at the Kohl’s Department Store in Canton.
Ball Ground residents’ Yeovany Perez, 34, and Abigayal Perez, 33, were arrested in the downtown Ball Ground area by a Cherokee County Sheriff Office deputy about 10 minutes after the robbery took place at 12:34 p.m., Canton Police said.
Yeovany Perez was charged with one count of robbery and one count of terroristic threat, while Abigayil Perez was charged with one count of robbery.
“Canton officers responded to 2034 Cumming Highway in reference to a robbery that occurred. The suspects left the scene in a pickup truck prior to the officers’ arrival,” said Pacer Cordry, spokesperson for the Canton Police. “Officers determined the suspects verbally threatened to use a weapon against the Loss Prevention Employees who were attempting to stop the theft. No weapon was displayed.”
Surrounding agencies were issued a BOLO of the suspects and vehicle’s description, Cordry said
“Approximately 10 minutes later, a Cherokee County Sheriff’s Deputy located the vehicle in the downtown Ball Ground area where they were apprehended,” he said.
Police would not stay what, if anything was taken from the store.
The suspects were charged and taken to the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center. Yeovany Perez was being held on a $27,900 bond and Abigayil Perez was being held on a $16,700 bond, jail records showed.

Cordry said Canton Police wanted to thank the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office, Ball Ground Police Department and Cherokee Marshal’s Office for their assistance in apprehending the suspects.
