Simi Valley CA Nov 30 2016 A security guard at the county courthouse in Simi Valley was arrested earlier this month after police learned about allegations of a sexual relationship with a minor, authorities said.
Simi Valley police said they arrested Thomas Platts, 26, on Nov. 16 near his Simi Valley residence on suspicion of felony continuous sexual abuse of a child. Police said the alleged victim is a girl younger than 14 and that the abuse took place over seven months.
Platts is a security guard at the east county courthouse, officials said, and is employed by private security company Allied Universal. A phone message left with the company Tuesday afternoon about Platts' status with the company was not returned.
Platts pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Nov. 18, according to court records. He is next scheduled to appear in court Dec. 14.
He was being held in county jail on $150,000 bail.

Police are asking the public for information about other possible inappropriate relationships or conduct by Platts, in part, because of the nature of his job. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Casey Nicholson at 583-6961.
