New York City NY Nov 10 2016 A 63-year-old security officer collapsed and died early Tuesday at the Russian Consulate on the Upper East Side, police said.
The Russian native, who lived in Manhattan, suffered some kind of medical problem and dropped to the floor in the consular security office on E. 91st St. near Fifth Ave. just before 7 a.m. He died at the scene.
A police source said he had prior health issues.
“An American physician that was admitted to the Consulate’s building clearly ruled out signs of a violent death,” the consulate said in a statement posted to Facebook.
The victim was not immediately identified. The city medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine how he died.
