Decatur AL Nov 28 2016 Two men were shot and injured during a large fight that started inside The Morgan Center in Decatur, police said.
Decatur police said a party, hosted by Jalen Nunn, became "unruly," and a large fight broke out inside the facility. This caused private security personnel to spray the entire crowd with pepper spray, according to police.
This action caused the fight to spill into the parking lot where multiple gunshots were fired.
Decatur police responded to the report of shots fired at around 11:40 p.m.
One man was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, according to police. He was transported to Huntsville Hospital. His condition is currently unknown.
A second man was shot in the foot and transported to Decatur Morgan Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
On Thursday night, Darren Jamahl Smith, 22, 1717 Saginaw Lane S.W., Decatur, was charged with one count of second-degree assault and was in Morgan County Jail with bail set at $30,000.
Numerous vehicles were also struck with gunfire, police said.
