Orlando FL Nov 23 2016 Orlando police are searching for four men who they said stole $45,000 worth of purses from a mall in a matter of seconds.
Police said the thieves hit the Gucci store at Mall at Milleni on last Thursday morning.
The men were seen on surveillance video running out of the mall with 23 Gucci bags worth thousands of dollars in their hands.
Several store employees were in the store at the time of the theft.
A police report said the employees began to scream, "They are stealing. They are taking the bags.”
Some chased after the men, but weren’t able to stop them from running back to the mall entrance near Bloomingdale's, which is about 280 yards away from Gucci.
The men hopped into a getaway car and sped away.
A mall security guard told Channel 9 he was approached by the men before the robbery.
He said the men asked about the location of a Foot Locker before stores were open to shoppers.
A Gucci store worker said she saw the men walk by twice and notified the security guard of suspicious behavior at 9:45 a.m.
At some point, the men walked out of the mall and police said they came back at 10:10 a.m., shortly after the stores were open.
The men ran out of the mall with the purses at 10:13 a.m.
A report said the men were in the Gucci store for 35 seconds.
Police said a fifth man was waiting in a white four-door Ford Escape outside the mall
A customer was able to take a picture of the SUV, which has a Virginia license plate with the tag VNK 4530.
Police hope someone will recognize the men in the video or the vehicle.
