Lancaster security officer shot in the head

Lancaster CA Nov 9 2016
Los Angeles County sheriff investigators are trying to solve a mystery surrounding the shooting death of a private security officer who was on duty at a strip mall.
Deputies were called to the strip mall at around 7:05 p.m. Monday in the 1700 block of East Avenue J, said Deputy Kimberly Alexander of the Sheriff’s Information Bureau.
There they found a 21 year old security officer deceased in a vehicle.
Homicide detectives learned that the man and another security officer were sitting in the second security guard’s car when the victim was shot, Alexander said.
Investigators say that the security officer had been shot in the head but it was not immediately clear if the victim shot himself or if the second security officer had shot him.
Authorities said the second man was questioned and released.
The victim’s gun was recovered at the scene, Alexander said.

The security officer was employed by Lancaster-based Opsec Specialized Protection, an employee of the company stated.
