SANDY SPRINGS, Ga. Nov 4 2016 - Police are on the lookout for a man pretending to be a security guard, who allegedly groped a woman and cut her with a switchblade.
The ordeal happened in an office complex early in the morning off of Hammond Drive and Concourse Parkway. Police said the woman was walking through the complex, when she sat down on the sidewalk; police said she was then approached by a male that informed her he was a security guard.
Police said, in their incident report, the woman reported the man tried to grope her and force himself on her, but she fought back. Police said the man took out his switchblade and cut the woman on her hands and her arm.
The woman was able to flee and flagged down individuals in the area for help.
Pedestrians and people in the area say they are shocked about the ambush, as plenty of people walk to nearby shopping centers, office complexes and businesses on the block.
“I’ve been walking here for 12 years. I don’t know why it happened,” said one woman, who said she feels safe walking in the neighborhood. “Don’t talk to strangers, no matter what they tell you.”
Police said the suspect is described as a male with light facial hair, wearing torn jeans.
