NATICK MA Nov 4 2016 - A man and woman from Ashland were arraigned at Framingham District Court Wednesday after authorities said a security agent at Macy's caught them working in tandem to steal wristwatches, bracelets and bags.
Michael Lewis Pfundt, 34, of 3 Front Street, and Kelly Hartzog-Pimetal, 39, of 8 President's Row, were charged with larceny over $250 and conspiracy to commit a crime. Judge David Cunis released them without bail but ordered that they stay away from the Macy's at Natick Mall.
Natick Police arrested them at around 9:24 p.m. Tuesday after a mall security officer saw them on security camera footage.
The guard became suspicious of the two, he told the officers, when he saw them looking around, according to the police report. He watched as Pfundt, dressed in a long, black peacoat and Hartzog-Pimetal, in a pink jump suit, approached a jewelry display case, police said.
The store security officer watched Hartzog-Pimetal pick up boxes containing jewelry and hand them to Pfundt, who took the packaging off and stashed the items either in his jacket pocket or on his wrist, according to police.
The pair then moved to the handbag department, where Hartzog-Pimetal picked out a black Calvin Klein handbag, police said, then the two walked out the door, police said.
The guard stopped them and confiscated four wristwatches, two bracelets, a handbag and a ring, at a total value of $614, police said.
