Man charged with attempted murder of security officer in Columbia SC privateofficer.com



COLUMBIA, SC Oct 22 2016 Columbia police arrested a man in the stabbing of two persons including a security officer in downtown Columbus.
Corneilous Williams is charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of 2nd degree assault and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
His bond was set this morning by a judge for $750,000.
According to witnesses, Williams inappropriately touched a female while she was walking with a male friend in the 1400 block of Main St at around 10:30 pm and when the male confronted Williams he then pulled out a knife and stabbed him in the arms.
As Williams continued walking away, the female ran for help and located a nearby security officer who responded and was stabbed in the side as he tried to subdue the suspect.
Police say that the security officer still managed to chase down the suspect and detain him until Columbia police officers arrived on scene a short time later.
Both victims were taken to a local hospital where they continue to receive treatment.
