AUSTIN, Texas Aug 2 2016 — Authorities in Travis County arrested a man after he allegedly shot a parking attendant at a strip club in North Travis County.
Erin Carter, age 36, was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly weapon.
On Sunday, at approximately 5:07 a.m. Travis County deputies responded to the 16300 block of North IH-35 for reports of a shooting at the Foxy’s Cabaret Night Club.
Court documents reveal a victim, who had a gunshot wound to the stomach, was treated and transported by EMS.
Deputies on scene talked to the club’s security personnel who had detained two suspects minutes after the incident.
According to an affidavit, one of the employees told police he observed the victim walking backwards from a Silver Nissan Murano with his hands up. The witness said Carter, who was the driver of the vehicle, was pointing a pistol at the man. Seconds later, several gunshots were heard and the victim fell to the ground.
Security personnel ran towards the vehicle and detained two suspects, court documents say. Carter and another man were then taken to Travis County Custody for further questioning.
Officers found a Taurus 9mm pistol on the ground on the passenger side.
The second suspect told the police that he and Carter had been out on 6th street and went to the nightclub after. The man denied hearing an argument or anything that could cause the shooting. According to the man, he was urinating behind the cars when he heard the gunshots. Then he heard the security guards yelling him to come out.
When officers questioned Carter, he denied all knowledge of the shooting. Carter argued he had no memory of the shooting or being at Foxy’s.
Based on the witness statements and evidence at the scene, Carter was taken into custody and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. He is being held on a $750,000 bond.
