Salinas police searching for suspect dressed as guard in Walmart robbery

Salinas CA Sept 29 2012 Police are on the lookout after a man entered the Walmart dressed like a security guard and robbed a cashier.
The robbery happened at the Walmart at 1800 N. Main St. at 10:16 a.m. Thursday, according to the Salinas Police Department.

The suspect, described as only as a man wearing sunglasses, blue shirt and dark cap, resembling a security officer uniform, entered the store and confronted an employee at gunpoint.

He stole an undisclosed amount of cash and fled out the door where he entered a dark vehicle and drove off.

The suspect was also described as being approximately 5-foot, 8-inches in height, weighing 195 pounds and having a goatee-style beard.

Detectives are examining surveillance video and anyone who may have information regarding the case is asked to contact the Salinas Police Department, 831-758-7090.
