Braintree MA Oct 12 2010 — Police arrested a Dorchester man wanted for a Boston bank robbery after receiving a tip that he was dropped off by a taxicab at the South Shore Plaza.

Officers patrolling the plaza were alerted on Friday afternoon, October 8, shortly after 3 p.m. that an individual wanted for robbing the Mt. Washington Bank on Gallivan Boulevard an hour earlier had been dropped off by a cab at the entrance nearest to the Cheesecake Factory.

Surveillance photos of the suspect were forwarded to the officers cell phones and the photos were then circulated throughout the mall. A short time later, a plaza security officer notified the officers that she saw a man fitting the description of the robbery suspect walking towards Target.

Detective Brian Cohoon and Officer Jennifer Zakowsky were patrolling the mall and observed the man, later identified as David A. Lydon, 24, as he entered the Champs store. Lydon was placed under arrest without incident and transported to the Braintree Police station where he was held for the Boston Police.
